Press

HOUSTON (June 5, 2015) – Collaborative for Children has been selected once again as a Run for a Reason charity for the 2016 Chevron Houston Marathon. Runners can secure an entry into the popular marathon, set for January 16, 2016, by fundraising for Collaborative for Children in addition to their marathon entry fee.

For a one-time fee of $350 in addition to the marathon registration fee, runners can purchase one of a limited number of HERO entries from Collaborative for Children. Another option is to fundraise for Collaborative for Children by agreeing to raise at least $500 in addition to the marathon registration fee. Supporters who are not interested in running are encouraged to support the Collaborative for Children team with either general donations or donations in support of specific fundraisers.

“We are so pleased to have been selected again as a Run for a Reason charity. As we support the Chevron Houston Marathon and its contributions to the spirit of our great city, we also appreciate its support of Collaborative for Children and our mission of ensuring quality early education for all Houston children,” said Carol Shattuck, president and CEO of Collaborative for Children.

To fundraise for an entry to the Chevron Houston Marathon on the Collaborative for Children team, contact Katherine Bauer. For more information on the Collaborative for Children team or to make a donation.
