Collaborative for Children Offers Three FREE Online Professional Development Classes

Press

HOUSTON (January 30, 2017) – Collaborative for Children has added three new classes to its online professional development offerings. The three-course series “Infants & Toddlers: Strengthening Language through Responsive and Effective Interactions” is free for early childhood educators now through March 31.

Written by experts in early childhood development, the three classes are designed to help early childhood professionals understand the importance of early language experiences and to learn ways to promote infants’ and toddlers’ language development within the child care setting. In the three classes, educators will learn strategies for effective, responsive communications with children, the milestones of language development during the first three years, and ways in which language can be incorporated into daily routines and activities.

These professional development classes are aligned with the CDA subject area of Advancing Children’s Physical and Intellectual Development. The three classes in the series are entitled “Introduction: Why, What and How,” “The Journey of Language Development” and “Language across the Curriculum.” Funding for the series was graciously provided by H-E-B.

Now through March 31, these new classes are available free of charge and may be accessed through the Collaborative for Children website. Each course takes approximately two hours to complete. Upon successful completion of each of the modules, including the pre- and post-assessments, educators will receive a two-hour training certificate.
