Results of the Nation’s First ‘Report Card’ Since Covid-19

New data shows many students fell behind in the pandemic. COVID had millions of kids home remote learning, and while most are back to class, the damage has been done. The nation’s report card shows math scores for 8th graders fell in nearly every state. Just below 30 percent were proficient in math. Reading scores dropped in more than half the states. A quarter of 4th graders couldn’t grasp basic concepts. The country’s education secretary calls it “a moment of truth.”
