Collaborative for Children’s Collab-Lab mobile classroom rolled into action once again! This time in partnership with New Hope Housing and the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation. Together, they joined forces with our Volunteer Engagement Program (VEP) team to deliver hands-on learning experiences that promote brain development and creativity in young children.
Learn about the student volunteer programInside the Collab-Lab, volunteers guided children through DIY activity kits designed to stimulate early brain development, fine motor skills, and imaginative thinking. These kits are fun and rooted in certified early childhood education (ECE) principles that support school readiness and lifelong learning.
“Every time we bring the Collab-Lab into a community, we’re not just delivering activities, we’re delivering opportunity,” said a Collaborative for Children representative. “These moments of engagement help children build the foundational skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.”
The Collab-Lab is a mobile classroom that brings STEAM-based curriculum, literacy tools, and family engagement resources directly to underserved neighborhoods.
By combining certified ECE training, STEAM learning, and real-time data tracking, Collaborative for Children helps families and educators create environments where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.
