Trick-or-Treating Promotes Social and Emotional Skill Development!

There are many benefits to trick-or-treating (besides all the yummy candy).  When your child joins other children in your neighborhood for some trick-or-treating, that child actively experiments with emotional and social roles.  Going door-to-door and socializing with friends and neighbors, helps in the development of feelings and building self-esteem.  Children also engage in conversations that will help them work with others in society.

Other benefits include:

  • Language Skills
  • Thinking and Imaginative Skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Empathy
  • Exploration of your community
  • Motor skills
  • Meeting new people and making friends
  • Costumes promote imagination and role playing
  • Exercise
  • CANDY (Yes, I know we mentioned that already!!)
