Dear Child Care Providers,
With the recent announcement by the World Health Organization declaring the new coronavirus, known as COVID-19, as a pandemic, it is important that we all take proactive steps to protect ourselves. We care about your health as well as the health of your staff, children and families, so we are sharing information recently published by Child Care Aware of America on how to reduce the impact of COVID-19 at your center.
We want to maintain a safe workplace and encourage practices that protect the health of employees, visitors and families. We also want to ensure the continuity of business operations during this pandemic.
During this period, we are committed to providing you with the needed support you expect from us. We have encouraged all service delivery staff in the field to use telephone and video conferencing instead of face-to-face meetings as much as possible during this outbreak to manage our obligations and commitment to you.

A pandemic is a global outbreak of a virus that is easily and quickly transmitted from person to person. Most people will not have immunity to the virus and a vaccine may not be available for some time after the virus is identified. It is important for child care providers to be prepared in advance to work to reduce the impact and spread of a pandemic virus on the children in their care.
