This session introduces teachers to the wonders of physics through sound and flight. What are vibrations? How do they help us hear? Sound cups, tuning forks, and sound hoses bring understanding about sound. You can't beat a homemade kazoo choir! Gravity centers give fresh ideas on using ramps and racing tubes. Participants will also do attention-getting experiments such as using a ping pong ball and blow drier to teach about air pressure. Adding a leaf blower and a little toilet paper to the experiment brings shouts of excitement! Straw rockets and floating feathers make learning about flight fun-tastic!
Participants should arrive 5-10 minutes before class. No children allowed.
