Elsie Samuels Early Childhood Educator Excellence Award

Early childhood educators do so much for our children!

The Samuels Foundation would like to honor an exemplary early childhood educator to thank them for their commitment to our children.

We need your help!

Do you know an early childhood educator who:
• works at a child care center
is the teacher of record in a classroom that serves children five years of age or younger
• holds a CDA, Montessori Certification, associate’s or bachelor’s degree
• has at least three years of classroom experience

Please tell us about this teacher!

We are so excited to honor one special educator in our community once again. This honor, The Elsie Samuels Early Childhood Educator Excellence Award, is underwritten by The Samuels Foundation, a family deeply committed to early childhood education. The Samuels family are longtime supporters of Collaborative for Children. The winning teacher will receive $1,000 and a college/university scholarship.

The process begins with your nomination. We are asking you to consider very carefully whom you would like to nominate. Think about the things that make this educator stand out to you. Perhaps this educator reads stories like a professional or can calm even the unhappiest of children. Complete the nomination form stating why you believe this educator should receive this award and submit it to Beverly Reed at breed@collabforchildren.org. Once we receive the nomination, we will send the application to the teacher.

Applications will be available between April 1, 2021 and June 15, 2021.

Thank you,
The Elsie Samuels Early Childhood Educator Award Committee
